A weird thing life is:

I have never been to Los Angeles, I highly doubt I'm ever going to Los Angeles, I don't even live in the same country as Los Angeles and yet there exists a kinship with that city almost as strong as I feel for Kitchener/Waterloo and Toronto stretching back as far as I can remember. It's more than just the fact that a lot of TV/Movie is produced there and I was a bit of a junkie growing up: I watched far more shows/programs that were specifically shot in Los Angeles, used it as the backdrop and featured stories about the people in that city. If there is such a thing as re-incarnation or something, I can pretty much guarantee my energy/soul/consciousness/whathaveya has lived in L.A. at some point.

This movie for me ticks all the boxes as it were:

  1. 80's thru and thru
  2. LA is the backdrop
  3. Acting/Characters AOK
  4. Cool tuneage
  5. Excellently shot obligatory car chase
  6. The lead 'good guy' character is an asshole, a better reflection of reality instead of unicorns and pure of heart heroes prancing around everywhere
  7. It's in the class of a 'show-er': one sees/learns some shit, particularly counterfeiting American currency
  8. A bunch of other stuff
